Take A Survey, Win An Ipod!

Winning an Ipod Nano is now as simply as responding to a quick survey. Development Dimensions International is giving an opportunity to win an Ipod Nano for all who (people who are in the healthcare services, specially executives) wants to participate in a brief online survey. They would like to know your opinions and ideas about their survey which is called “Quest for Health Care Excellence”. You don’t have to worry about your information because it will be kept confidential. The survey should only take 10 minutes of your time and closes on June 22, 2008. The drawing of the winner among the participants will be held on the 23rd of June. To take the survey, click here.

Interesting

Today, while I was putting the clothes in the dryer, my attention was caught by an old and a bit dirty envelope that's on top of the dryer. I checked the date and it was stamped December 2, 1944, but the actual date on the letter is November 26th, 1944. It's from War & Navy Departments in New York. There's a short letter inside and it's very interesting. A letter from an Army husband I guess, to his dearest wife. I know it can't be considered "antique" yet (for it to be called antique, it should be around at least 100 years old). I will scan the letter and will post it here later on. This letter was probably from our crawl basement, it got out from there when they put the new furnace. I was just wondering if these two people are still alive. hmmm...

What's New?

Nothing much here. It was a long weekend and I did not do any of my internet "raket". Its like I took a mini vacation at the comfort of my home ehhehehe. I did not login to my YM nor as I have mentioned on any of my "rakets" all I did was watch television, and when I got tired of watching english tv shows, I turned to the internet and watched tagalog movies plus right now I am into watching a telenobela entitled "Maging Sino Ka Man" (book 1). Im not sure how long this telenobela is, but I am into parts 41-50. So far I've seen that there's parts 100 something posted. So we'll see. :) I just watch it coz I like Sam Milby. Will post more about him later on.

Anyways, last Saturday and Sunday, we stayed home, hubby grilled chicken for two days. Then yesterday, Monday, we went to the lake coz it was nice out. It was 79 degrees. Its pretty hot, but the lake wind feels better on the skin. Today, however, is pretty chilly again. We are in the 40s believe it or not. Crazy Chicagoland weather huh? :)
That's it for right now. Will try to post more on what's goin' on on this end. Take care everyone!

And The Winners...

...of this season's reality shows are...

American Idol (Season 7)

David Cook from Blue Springs, MO. Yey! I've been cheering for him since day one. I thought it's gonna be David A. coz of the judges' comments. Thankfully more David Cook fans voted their butts of last night. He didn't get a lot of good comments specially from Simon, but mind you, he retracted those when he watched the show again at his home. By the way, David C. invited Kimberly Caldwell to dinner (you probably have seen it, if you watched the Idol Tonite's red carpet event on T.V. Guide channel, thought it was cute ehehehe

Survivor (Fans vs. Favorites - Micronesia)

The winner is Parvati Shallow from Vero Beach, FL. I never liked her specially during her first appearance in Survivor (Cook Islands). She tried to manipulate the boys using her looks. Nways, she was in the final two with Amanda, ultimately she won the million dollar by one vote.

America's Next Top Model - (Season 10)

The winner - Whitney Thompson from Atlantic Beach, FL. She was chosen America's Next Top Model over Anya Kop. Whitney is the first full-figured model that won ANTM. She's pretty and really has personality, although most of the judges during elimination thought that she looks fake. But I guess she won, coz she stepped up her game even more. I believe you will see her in the cover of Seventeen magazine in their June or July issue.

There you go folks! I am looking forward for the next season of the above shows... can't wait. :)

Live Action Death Note

I seldom watch anime shows on television, but tonight, there’s nothing really good to watch so I was just scanning every channel, then I landed on an anime called DeathNote and I just couldn’t help but focus on it. Funny cause after watching, I decided to surf the net and learned that a live action DeathNote is gonna be playing in select movie theaters nationwide! However, it will only be shown for two nights. May 20th and the 21st at 7:30 p.m. This rare event includes a 20-minute feature on how the popular manga was interpreted into live action.

So what exactly is DeathNote? As I understand it, I think it is about a kid named Light Yagami, who, other than his unceasing studying, has a normal life and happen to found a notebook that reads Death Note, which was dropped by a rogue Shinigami death god named Ryuk. You’d die if your name is written in the notebook. Light used the power of the notebook to rid the world of evil. Criminals started drying and the authorities assigned the legendary detective named L to investigate and soon trailing Light. Both Light and L believes that they are on the side of justice, and attempt to prove who is good and who is evil.

Unknown

Very interesting story. So if I were you, Click Here and enter your zip code to find the nearest theater in your area. Remember, seating is limited, so hurry and get your tickets now! By the way, the movie has not been officially rated, hence, it should be treated as an equivalent to “R” rating.

Hey People!

It's been two days since I last updated my blog. Anyways, here's a quick update... Friday: we're supposed to go to a graduation party (hubby's nephew), unfortunately, we weren't able to go coz when kuletz woke up that morning, he has a 102 fever. He did throw up a little bit too. Didn't wanna get up and a bit grumpy. He just want me to stay in bed with him and watch Toy Story 2 over and over again. I don't know exactly what happened but it's probably because of his gums. Its swollen a little bit, I guess he's brushing his teeth too hard. Not sure though if that's really what's causing his fever. Saturday: Rockford (to attend a birthday party) is tentatively our destination, since he still has a slight fever (but I feel better coz he's back to being very active again), we decided to stay home. Anyways, other than that everything seems normal in this household. :) I am just sorry that I haven't been able to visit all your blogs like I used to coz my data entry thingy is eating up all my time. Why? Because if I don't concentrate on doing it, I won't be able to make a cent. So I really have to coz there isn't a lot of opps for me. Well, that's all for now folks! Hopefully I will be able to stretch my time a bit so I can visit your blogs again. Thanks for checking out on me every now and then. Take Care all!

The Next Survivor (A Must Read) :D

This is pretty interesting (a friend emailed this to me), I am sure if hubby enters in this competition, there's a possibility that he'd win as the sole survivor eheehehehe. He sure is more organized than me. He is very good in scheduling/doing things up. However, I don't think he'd like to do these things for a very long time. :) I myself don't even do some of the things listed below... at least not yet.

***

The next Survivor Series has been announced...

Six married men will be dropped on an island with one car and 3 kids each for
six weeks.

Each kid will play two sports and either take music or dance classes.

There is no fast food.

Each man must take care of his 3 kids; keep his assigned house clean,
correct all homework, and complete science projects, cook, do laundry,
and pay a list of 'pretend' bills with not enough money.

In addition, each man will have to budget in money for groceries each
week.

Each man must remember the birthdays of all their friends and relatives,
and send cards out on time--no emailing.

Each man must also take each child to a doctor's appointment, a dentist
appointment and a haircut appointment.

He must make one unscheduled and inconvenient visit per child to the
Urgent Care.

He must also make cookies or cupcakes for a social function.

Each man will be responsible for decorating his own assigned house,
planting flowers outside and keeping it presentable at all times.

The men will only have access to television when the kids are asleep and
all chores are done.

The men must shave their legs, wear makeup daily, adorn himself with
jewelry, wear uncomfortable yet stylish shoes, keep fingernails polished
and eyebrows groomed.

During one of the six weeks, the men will have to endure severe
abdominal cramps, back aches, and have extreme, unexplained mood swings
but never once complain or slow down from other duties.

They must attend weekly school meetings, church, and find time at least
once to spend the afternoon at the park or a similar setting.

They will need to read a book to the kids each night and in the
morning, feed them, dress them, brush their teeth and comb their hair by
7:00 am.

A test will be given at the end of the six weeks, and each father will
be required to know all of the following information: each child's
birthday, height, weight, shoe size, clothes size and doctor's name.
Als o the child's weight at birth, length, time of birth, and length of
labor, each child's favorite color, middle name, favorite snack,
favorite song, favorite drink, favorite toy, biggest fear and what they
want to be when they grow up.

The kids vote them off the island based on performance. The last man
wins only if...he still has enough energy to be intimate with his spouse
at a moment's notice.

If the last man does win, he can play the game over and over and over
again for the next 18-25 years eventually earning the right To be called
Mother!

Label World

The success of a certain product doesn’t only rely on their quality. Presentation, is one of the most crucial thing for a product to be noticed. Once you get the consumers attention, then your product will probably do good in the market. When I say presentation, this includes on how you introduce the product and of course how catchy your label is ( (e.g. tv commercials, print ads etc). I mentioned labels, because as I consumer myself, the first thing I look for when I am buying a certain product is their labels, from the name label, nutrition facts, even the Safety Label. Now, one of the famous companies that produces custom labels for wineries, food companies and the likes is Label World. But, they can do custom labels for you too specially if you intend to order a large quantity (say, wine labels for an occasion like weddings?). If this interests you, you can visit them at www.labelworldusa.com.

I Am Sleepy

Hubby usually leaves the house for work at around 6:00 a.m. and he'd wake me up to put the house alarm on. Today, when hubby left kuletz was awake. Since then he didn't go back to sleep and so am I. Then we went to the bank with his Grandma, who gave me her Mother's Day card and a nice little outfit (a blouse and a skirt-which I am not really into, I meant the skirt ehehehe). Anyways, it's pretty but I am not sure if I am gonna wear it. I might wear the top coz it fits perfectly. I cooked dinner after going to the bank. Right now I am a bit tired and so sleepy, I'd like to sleep while kuletz is asleep (yeah he fell asleep after eating dinner). BUT! I can't help but watch t.v., do some keying (for my data entry job) and was able to grab an opp (which I will be writing after this post). That's it for right now. After all this, I think I am gonna go ahead and sleep, so I can stay up late later on. Ciao Bella!

How Was Your Mom's Day ?

Hi mommies out there! How was your day yesterday? What did you do? As for me here, we didn't do much, my two boys gave me cards, great big hugs and kisses. We are supposed to eat out, but we figured that the restaurants are pretty crowded (which we found out that they were), so we went grocery shopping instead, the two boys bought some food from Applebee's to take home and I was craving for some gyros, so that's what I had. Oh, hubby bought a DVD of the movie Kingdom of Heaven, starring Orlando Bloom. I am not fond of Orlando Bloom, but I liked the movie (I guess coz of the story), I actually enjoyed it. The movie ended at past 11:00 p.m. so the two boys went to bed and I checked my internet "rakets". That's how my day pretty much went.

Photos of the cards my "men" gave me (two from hubby, I wonder why? eheheh) and one from the little man.

I did notice that the some of the pictures that I post here seems color coordinated... My MIL and my outift during the oathtaking, these cards... I don't like pink!!! :D I am a blue person...geez!

Mom's Day (Tag)

On the 11th, its Mom's Day. Being a Mother is the most difficult, challenging, 24-hour permanent "job" in sometimes a chaotic environment. Oddly enough, we LOVE doing it!!! Why? Because if we do it right, we get FREE hugs and kisses for life! :)

Anyways, here's the tag, by the way, this was passed on to me by Miss Juliana.

Here we go.....

Share your favorite Mother's Day quotes and place your blog/name right after the piece of artwork.

1. Irresistible Fascinations / Naomi
2. Manna from Heaven / Lena
3. And Life Goes On / Lena
4. Sheng's Simple Thoughts... / SHENG
5. Pinay WAHM / Juliana
6. Teacher's Corner / Juliana
7. Roselle's Sweet Escape
8. Roselle's Blog
9. Life In The Blogger Lane / Roselle

Like Ms. Juliana, I don't really know any Mother's Day quotes, so I just did a littel research too...

"Mother - that was the bank where we deposited all our hurts and worries." ~T. DeWitt Talmage

"A mother is not a person to lean on, but a person to make leaning unnecessary." - Dorothy Canfield Fisher

"The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new." - Rajneesh

I am not sure who I can tag, coz some of you might have done this already... but if you are a MOM and you'd like to snatch this one, feel free to do so. HAPPY MOM'S DAY!

NeighBORROW

My husband never ever liked to borrow. He gets a bit piss off at me every time I’d borrow something from a friend or a neighbor. But to me, borrowing isn’t bad at all specially if you just need it one time or maybe two and of course if you really know how to take care of the things that you want to borrow. Borrowing things would save you money for sure and spaces in the house (cause you wouldn‘t buy things anymore that you only need to use once or probably twice the most) and even save the environment. That is why the idea of www.neighborrow.com has made me so excited. Through their website, you can borrow, trade, share or even meet people that is in your neighborhood. Isn’t that fun? The other good thing is that, it’s totally FREE! So I’ll be joining the fun and hope to see you there too! Once again, the website is www.neighborrow.com.

Celebrity Crushes (A Tag) Part I

This is a tag from Ms.Juls. Sorry Juls, it took me quite a while to do this. Actually, this is just partial eheeeh I told you I have a very long list of celebrity crushes ehhehehe So here's the first part.

1. Richard Dean Anderson a.k.a MacGyver - he's been my ultimate and first ever crush. I've watched almost all episodes of MacGyver when I was in college. At one point, I'd save my lunch money so I can buy some of his posters ehhehe and truly, I have tons of posters on my bedroom wall back then (so baduy according to my sisters ehhehe)

2. Tom Selleck / Magnum P.I. - don't ask me why eheeh I just like how manly he looks. I have watched a few episodes of Magnum PI but I like him the most on the movie Three Men and a Baby, he's funny.

There you go aling Juls, this is just the first part. Will try to finish up my list soon. Thanks again for tagging me.

If I Were My Pants

When I was younger, I never feel comfortable wearing a skirt or a dress. I don’t know why, but if I am not at school (wherein of course, we wear a skirt as a school uniform) you’d always see me in a pair of shorts or pants. At one point my grandpa thought I was a tomboy. But can you blame me? I am sure a lot of you would agree that wearing a pair of pants is much more comfy than wearing a skirt or a dress.

I have this favorite pants of mine that I have been using for the longest. I have other pants of course, but this denim pants is my all time favorite. I’d use it anytime, anywhere. If I were my pants even for a day, I am sure I’d be exhausted cause I am telling you, every time I needed to go somewhere, I’d just grab my fave pants and pair it with a nice shirt (or blouse) and a comfy shoes, you can drag me to any place you wanna go. But of course it would be a great experience too cause I’m able to go places, occasions, events etc. Oh by the way, this fave pants of mine is still with me at this point, it still fits but a little tight now (don‘t ask, I had a baby already, ok? ehehehe) . So I am building a new relationship with my recently bought pants. We’ll see how it goes. By the way, in this house, I am not the only one who has a tight relationship with a pair of pants, hubby has one too, a Dockers pants. However, that’s another story.

Anyways, if you have a story about your favorite pants, I am urging you to create a video about it and submit it to the Dockers TV Commercial Contest for a chance to win and see your ad during The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on NBC. Imagine yourself winning this Dockers contest
and be seen on television, so don’t wait up create your story video now!

Update! Update! Update!

Hey all! First off, I'd like to thank those people have been visiting me all this time. I truly appreciate it.

Here's an update after my being on a hibernation mode. Geez! Nothing has really happened ehheeh :D Oh well, the most important thing that happened during my hibernation mode is that on the 29th of April I was sworn in and now officially an AmGirl. Yes, I am an American Citizen now. It was long overdue. I have been procrastinating in applying for that, but hey, its finally over. Here are some photos on the day of the ceremony:

Please excuse the eyebags :D

Notice that hubby and kuletz is in neither of the picture, they were with me, but couldn't find a parking space that's close to the building were the ceremony is gonna be held. It was pretty chilly and windy that day, so hubby didn't wanna walk to and from the car with kuletz (MIL and I didn't take the kid with us coz I was in hurry at that time, thought I was late). So they roamed around downtown Chicago and just waited for us. Anyways, after the oath taking, we went home to changed clothes and decided to eat out, however, when we got home kuletz and hubby was very sleep already so they didn't go (they weren't actually hungry coz they ate while waiting for us). MIL and I were hungry then, so we went. After that we headed to the casino :D Played with those 1 cent slot machines :) We won $20. :P

Well, that's pretty much it, nothing exciting to write about really :) Thanks for reading however. Till next time (I still am in hibernation mode, just trying not to neglect my blogs for a very long time) Since there's not opps lately, I am trying to concentrate on my data entry job. See yah when I see yah all! :) Take Care.
