I Did It

I can't remember when I last posted my new addiction here. The game called Ranch Rush. Last Sunday I finally finished the game... (yup I took a break from all my internet stuff):) It was really addicting and challenging but I can't believe that I will be able to finish the entire game that quick...The only thing is, the high score was not saved on the system :( But anyway, here's how my ranch looked like when I finished the game:

This is what I do when I want to relax a bit and take a break from my online stuff

My husband said, I'm like a little kid ehehehe... I don't care :) It is fun. Actually I just started a new ranch. I am sure I can finish it again in one sitting, but of course, I am not gonna do that :) Plus sometimes my computer would freeze on me.. probably telling me to take a break from playing :)

Pregnancy With Style

Women are likely to be more moody when they are pregnant. I know I was when I got pregnant. My husband said that it was a challenge to understand me back then. Obviously, it is an issue of hormonal, emotional, and evidently physical changes. Sometimes I feel like I was so huge, fat, and ugly. I know these ways of thinking is not true. Just because you are pregnant does not mean you are ugly and cannot be sexy and trendy looking. There are many stylish clothes out there than can be bought and will carry out the beauty in you. Just for example these trendy maternity clothes:

I am certain than when a pregnant woman wear these, she would stand out. These gorgeous clothes are from bellablumaternity.com. They offer latest trends on maternity clothes (tops, pants, dresses, pajamas and the likes) that come with quality. In addition, you can mix and match these clothes and you can probably wear it even after you deliver the baby. Since the weather is starting to get really, really cold, check out their Fall and Winter season maternity tops. I am sure you will find one that suits your need during the most fantastic days of your life.

FedEx

Last Monday, I was so pissed with FedEx. Why? Because my husband ordered his gift for kuletz' on November 14th thinking that it would come on time for our little one's birthday on the 19th. Unfortunately it didn't. They came last Monday. But guess what? We still did not get it. I was waiting for it the whole day and just found a note on our door saying that they tried to deliver the package at this time and blah blah blah... Duh!!!! They did not ring the bell again!! Yes! This was the second time in a month that they did it. The first time, I had to write a note asking them to ring the bell. And that's what I did too this time. Why in the world wouldn't you ring the freaking bell. My husband asked me if the doorbell is working. Of course it is working... I even checked it three times... I got my package from USPS that day and sure, they rang the bell. I don't know what is wrong with these FedEx people. Are they in a hurry and don't want to spend a minute to ring the bell and see if somone's gonna come out? When I asked them, they said they knocked... What?? I know our house is not that big but still, you can't hear someone knocking, that is why the doorbell is there geez!

Toys For Special Little One

Mega blocks are one of the few gifts my son had received from his first birthday. He is five years old now and still loves his Mega blocks. So this Christmas, I am thinking of getting him another set from Mega brands. I saw this Tipping Tractor (picture shown below) and I am certain that this is going to be perfect. He has Lightning McQueen and Mater already so getting this tipping tractor set would be a great addition to his collection.

Give Love - Christmas For Payatas

We all know that Christmas is the time of the year wherein we give and share the most. This holiday season; please extend your kindness to the unfortunate ones by donating to Christmas For Payatas project any amount you can. Your generosity will be a part of the project that would provide education to at least 25,000 kids, grant livelihood and skills training to 100,000 families, and they are hoping to provide shelter too. Please read the press release below to learn more about this great cause or visit their website and watch the video for you to see where your generosity will land.

Press Release:

The landfill in Payatas, The Philippines, is notoriously known the world over as Smokey Mountain. For over 35 years, the smoking dump site has grown to become a stark and heart-tugging reminder of the desperate onditions of humanity.

On a daily basis, children pick through newly arrived garbage to
collect material to sell. The earnings made by one child are not enough to even buy food for the day. Hence, entire families are forced to climb the mountain each day, hoping to earn enough to feed everyone. Children as young as four years old are forced to work in this daily struggle for survival.

In response to the plight of these children, Totedaddy.com is working with Lighthouse Center For Children Foundation to bring a little cheer to the children this Christmas.

Totedaddy.com has kicked off with a cash sponsorship of USD 10,000 to enable the children to celebrate Christmas. FusionExcel International has also pitched in a USD 5,000 in cash sponsorship. The money raised
will help fund the projects already in place, and help fund additional projects aimed at providing better housing, and a means of livelihood for the Payatas community.

It is hoped that by creating better awareness to the plight of these children, more support can be garnered towards their betterment. Together we can bury poverty!

Birthday Photos

Here are some of the birthday photos last Wednesday, Kuletz' birthday. We just invited Ashley actually and went to McDonalds. Then ordered some "pancit" and more from our fave Chinese place, went home and these two tore up the house playing. Last year we celebrated it at Chuckee E. Cheese with a few more kids but those kids moved to the far north side of Chicago already. The birthday boy had a great time nevertheless.

It's Kuletz' Day

I can't believe that it has been 5 years since I gave birth to my little Kuletz... Time really flies even if you are not having fun sometimes ehheheheh It's true... raising a child is not a smooth sailing ride. It's tough, but believe it or not, I would not trade it for anything in this world. :)

Kuletz,

Wishing you great things
on your
birthday and everyday!

Love you much!

Kmart's Mr. Bluelight

Yellow smiley face is passé already guys. Make way for Kmart’s Mr. Bluelight! Remember him? Well, he is our new pal this holiday season. Mr. Bluelight would not only give us dazzling ideas in this season of gift giving, but also many items in great values that would save us a lot of money. This is one of the reasons why I have been convincing my husband to shop at Kmart. He is a bit stubborn though. He wants to shop at his fave “W” store thinking that they are still offering layaway program. I told him beforehand that they do not offer it anymore, but he still went to “W” to check if I was right. And I was right!

Anyways, after finding it out for himself, we went to Kmart. I am telling you, Mr. Bluelight is all over the place, which is a good sign, because I know we will be saving a lot. Hubby bought some turtleneck shirts for him and our little one, a couple of Spongebob Squarepants DVDs, some electronic items and a few other knick-knacks. He looked at some stuff (an LCD flatscreen t.v. for one) that he would like to put in Kmart Layaway program but he said, he would do it the next time because the line in the layaway counter is tremendously long. I think many people are realizing that Kmart is currently the only national store that offers layaway. Well, I cannot blame them because during this weak economy, tight budget, and the likes, program like Kmart Layaway is such a huge help.

By the way, here are some of the great holiday values that you can find exclusively at Kmart:

• Celebrations by Radko, a unique assortment of boxed glass ornaments exclusively for Kmart. The new collection by Christopher Radko®, the original manufacturer of handmade glass ornaments and holiday collectibles.
• Jaclyn Smith 100-percent cashmere sweaters
• Range of home electronic systems from Samsung, Sony and Panasonic – all at affordable prices
• Wide variety of the popular Joe Boxer apparel for the family, including fleece, loungewear and sleepwear.

Gas Price

Wow! I was watching the news and I was happy to know that gas prices continuously going down, at least here in Illinois. The average gas price here is $2.23 compared to over 3 dollars in the past months, but there is one suburb here that the gas price is at $1.99, the cheapest so far. As a result, the long line looks like you are in Six Flags :)

All About Cell Phones

Oh no! I think I need a new cell phone. Too bad I just had this cell phone for less than a year. It started having problems when I let my son play games on it. Yeah, Kuletz strikes again! The last time, he submerged my Samsung cell phone in the water pretending that it was a boat. That was my favorite cell phone of all time. Now, all I can do is find good cell phone deals instead of whining about it, I can’t blame anyone this time but me. I should have not let him play with it in the first place. I am hoping that there is going to be a T-Mobile Black Friday sale, so I can buy one.

And just when I said it, I came across a website that is giving away *FREE Sprint Instinct cell phone on Black Friday. Hey, just because it is free doesn’t mean that it is a crappy cell phone. Samsung Instinct by Sprint is one of the newest touchscreen cell phones in the market today. It also features GPS, a 2 megapixel camera, advanced bluetooth technology and you can use it to browse the internet as well. The site that is offering this phone for free is called bestincellphones.com. Come November 28, you will be able to avail of their best Sprint Black Friday deals. This Sprint deals might be for you, as for me, I am going to check their T-Mobile sales. I would surely recommend them to my friend who is looking for a new phone as her Nokia is starting to act up too. Luckily, bestincellphones.com also offers Verizon Wireless Black Friday sale and has at&t Black Friday deals too. Remember, it is going to be on November 28! Mark it on your calendar now.

*please check bestincellphones.com for details

Workplace Romance

Back home, when I got my first job, our company does not have any rules about office dating. Actually, that is where I met my first boyfriend. At first, I would say it was uncomfortable working with your boyfriend but we did not hide it. However, we had boundaries (no PDA for me) and we did not mix love and work. For me, work is work and I kept it that way.

I brought that up because I know that most companies here in the United States have office dating rules. I am not saying that dating a colleague is illegal, but I think companies set these rules to protect their employees from potential sexual harassments. Anyway, speaking of office dating, I have bumped into Nicole Williams’ website and there are tons of tips there about dating at the office and even sex at work. Here are some useful tips about office dating: (1) Know Your Company’s Policy on Inter-office Dating (2) Don’t Keep It Secret (3) Be Discreet and Act Professional (4) Be Aware of Sexual Harassment. Simple tips but absolutely useful, isn’t it?

By the way, if you would like to get a FREE copy of Office Sex Survival Guide, simply sign up for their free weekly newsletter, “Works” by visiting Nicole Williams' website.

We Are Making Progress Here

I am talking about my son's reading. If you'd remember, I posted here the book that I bought entitled "Teach Your Child To Read In 100 Easy Lessons"...We are only in lesson five but I think we have made so much progress. Before we started, he can write and spell his complete name, can spell at least 10 three-letter words like cat, dog and the likes, but I know he just memorized that and still can't really read. But now, I know he's starting to learn to read and comprehend. I was surprised just moments ago before he went to bed, he was holding his book, flipping pages and he was reading those lessons that we took in the past. He's just actually reading letters, but not as letters but how they sounds. It just means that he's learning the stuff that I was teaching him. For that, I am so happy. I am pretty sure that he'll start to read paragraphs eventually as we move further through our lessons. 95 Lessons to go! :)

Sears Lowest Prices For The Season

I have been baking a lot recently and this is how my cake pan looks like. My cookie sheets are just looking the same. Obviously, I need a replacement. I have looked online and seen many bakeware and cookware sale on television, but I am certain that I can get a much better deal if I will just look at the right place and at the right time. Guess what? I have found it! The Sears.com Appliance Store is having a Cookware and Bakeware Sale! I think this is also the right time for us to get all the things we need in the kitchen because we are definitely going to be doing a lot of cooking as Thanksgiving and Christmas is coming up.

The Sears.com Appliance Store is also your good source for small kitchen appliances like blenders, mixers, coffee makers, juicers and more. One thing you can look at right now is their $4.99 final price for basic essentials 8-pc roster set after $10 mail-in rebate (LIMITED TIME ONLY 11/5 to 11/8). A roaster alone can cost you between 45.00 to 100.00 dollars, but to get a final price of $4.99 is an unbelievably wonderful deal! Do not pass this one up, this sale will not last that long!

This is one of my favorite photos from the Circus. Their trainer is absolutely amazing. How in the world can you make five elephants do that if you aren't the greatest!? Anyway, these elephants are so cute (not so much of the right word for these humongous "creatures" huh?)

The Greatest Show On Earth

Yesterday, hubby woke me up a bit early and showed me tickets to the Ringling Brothers, & Barnum and Bailey Circus. He's been wanting to take our little kiddo to that show and we finally did it. We went to Rosemont, IL and the show starts at 7:30, we made it a bit early, like 6:30, just enough time to enjoy petting the elephant and trying out clown suits, however our little boy got a little scared and overwhelmed. But as soon as the show started, he was ok and he had a wonderful time! I wasn't able to take pictures of the three of us coz I was busy taking pictures of their colorful productions. We loved the motorcycles, tigers and the elephants acts. I also like the flying trapeze! Our son had a great time, he can't stop clapping and screaming. I think he liked the motorcycles and elephants part the most. I would like to post some pictures but somehow blogger is acting up. I guess I'd do it later :)

Press Release:

Hello my name is Brett Bumeter and I write about Dragon Naturally Speaking at Softduit.com (Tip if you are looking for the details on the coupon codes scroll to the bottom of this article). I wanted to share this video with you showing a fellow blogger named Drew who is using Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 for the first time. There are some interesting things that you will see in this video that I wanted to point out to help you get a sense of how Dragon NaturallySpeaking works and how it could potentially work for you.

I think it's important to see Dragon NaturallySpeaking, when people are using it and videos definitely help show you how well the software works these days. It's extremely fast and can help you to type at 150 words per minute. You can see this in the demonstration that Drew has created as he is basically talking at a relatively normal speed. You will notice that he tends to look with his eyes to the right and up just a little bit.

I mention this not because Drew is looking in some strange direction, but instead because Dragon NaturallySpeaking does use your brain in a slightly different way than what you may be used to. You have to think of the words you will say in your head and then speak it out loud. That's a little different than when you think of a composition and type it out with your fingers or even more different than when you attempt to write with your hands using a pen and paper. All three activities use different sections of our brains.

There used to be a time a decade ago when using Dragon NaturallySpeaking was more difficult because it would take a significant amounts of time to train the software. These days, the software can be trained in as little as seven minutes. The out-of- the-box experience with Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 is flat-out amazing. That said, it will take you a little bit of time to train your brain or compose messages or articles or e-mails by speaking them out loud.

You can type 150 words a minute using Dragon NaturallySpeaking and that's typically 2 to 3 times faster than your average person can type. 2 to 3 times faster can save you a great deal of time and a great deal of money. This can enable you to spend more time with your family or be more productive at work and get more done and possibly a promotion or raise. Possibly the biggest benefit that you can experience is just staying on top of your workload with less effort.

If you consider also that Drew is looking off to the right a little bit as he's composing, I will share with you a hidden benefit of Dragon NaturallySpeaking. When you use Dragon NaturallySpeaking, you are not locked into a position physically, where you have to stare at your computer monitor all of the time. When you don't have the light on your computer screen glaring in your face all the time, you experience a great deal less eye strain. The muscles in your eyes can relax more, as you look around the room and change your focal point. You would be amazed at how much extra energy this will give you as your eyes, and the muscles in your eyes don't get worn out as fast as they would if you sit at a computer and type all day long.

We often associate sore hands and fingers and wrists with typing, but typing also creates very sore eyes and can even lead to migraine headaches. Plus, it basically just makes you tired sitting in front of your computer. Using Dragon NaturallySpeaking, you can save a great deal of time and effort and keep your energy level high, because you're not wearing out your eyes. With a wireless microphone headset like the one I’m using, you can even pace around your desk or exercise on a treadmill or bike machine while you write your emails!

Best regards,
Brett Bumeter
www.softduit.com

PS I wrote this article with Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 preferred. It took me about five minutes to write the words above, which are proximally 670 in length. That's about 130 words per minute typing, and it only took me another minute or two to edit, which is still approximately 95 words per minute with editing included!

Sweating Like I have Never Sweat

I have always wanted to get a Playstation for the longest but I am kind of hesitant cause I know I am not gonna use it a lot. All I wanted to do with the Playstation is to play Dance Dance Revolution :D Anyway, The reason why I want to play Dance Revolution is because first of all, it is fun and second, it would make you sweat like you have never sweat before! Then I saw this one on the internet and I thought it's a good alternative to Playstation, which is over $100 dollars. I only paid a little over $22.00 including S&H and let me tell you, it was fun! Of course, it is not as good as Playstation but it will do for me. My son and I had fun playing already, it was a good exercise, which is one of the reasons why I got this one too.

You don't need a game console, it is a plug and play thingy. It has 48 songs, 50 games including a pinball and another one which I can't remember the title of the game.

Kmart Lay-away Program

My friend, who is a single parent, is a huge fan of layaway programs. It helps her a lot especially during back-to-school and holiday seasons. I have not done lay-away before but my friend keeps encouraging me to do it because she said that it is a great alternative to credit cards. It allows you to purchase goods without taking on additional high interests and without the concern of being rejected for lack of credit merit. Well, Who would not want programs like that in this kind of economy? Money is always tight and credit card is not even an option. She was a bit disappointed however, when major stores stopped offering them.

But guess what? I saw this ad on television about Kmart Lay-Away, got so excited cause I checked it out, and the program is available in the Kmart store that is close to where my friend and I live. I think for the first time, I will be using Kmart Lay-away program. How does it work? Let us say you want an item but at that moment you don’t have enough money to pay for it, if you put it in lay-away, all you have to do is to pay a small down payment and then they will put the item on hold for you and you will have 8 weeks to pay the entire amount. Isn’t that wonderful?

<--This is the item that I want to put in Kmart Lay-away. My husband did not want me to get it because he thinks Wii is just for kids and teenagers. But I don’t believe that because I have seen plenty of Wii games that entertain the whole family. I am sure all of us will enjoy it. Anyway, he cannot do anything now because he won’t be able to see it till Christmas cause Kmart can hold it for me. Smart huh?! : -)

Smuckers Freebies

I can't remember if I have mentioned here that I am a BzzAgent. We are just typical consumers who believe in honest word of mouth. We love to find out about new products, services and other cool stuff. We share about these cool stuff to people we know and of course listen to their feedback. It doesn't matter if it is negative or positive. These feedback are important to companies and brands. Why? Because feedback is one of the factors that they look at in order for them to improve their products, services etc.

Anyway, I recently signed up for the Smucker's Uncrustable Sandwiches BzzCampaign and they sent me this... (it includes a coupon to try Smucker's Uncrustables for FREE and some more coupons to pass along to others, plus a special gift from Smuckers -the red one, which I believe is like a container where you can put your Smucker's Uncrustables).

My son and I love peanut butter and jelly sandwich. We make it for breakfast, lunch and snack. But sometimes I am too lazy to make sandwiches. So the Smucker's Uncrustables is the perfect answer for that laziness of mine. All I needed to do is to take it out of the freezer and thaw it for 30 minutes and voila! The Anamigo Pet Photo Contest

I used to be so scared of dogs because when I was a child one of my grandmother’s dog bit me, since then I never want to be near one. My husband however, is my total opposite. He loves dogs. Since I got here in the States, we have had two dogs already. They were so cute. One is a Labrador and the other one was a huge German Shepherd. They are both adorable. Unfortunately, our Labrador named Bigboy got lost and we had to give the German Shepherd to the shelter as my husband has to go out of the state for a while and he did not want me to take care of the dogs. Why? Because he knows that even if I love those animals, I still have this phobia of mine. He also knows that I am just able to be around them because of him. Furthermore, my son was still a little baby then. He was so aware that I did not have much time to take care of anything but the baby. He would not mind me taking care of the dog if he will just be away for a day or two, but since it will be a bit long, he decided to give it up. I know, I know it’s sad. But guess what? Hubby is planning to get another little puppy for our son. : -)

Anyway, I have mentioned our cute little pets because I have come across Anamigo’s FREE Pet Photo Contest! So I thought, if we still have those adorable dogs, I could enter them in the contest. Oh No !

I was reading through Aling Tikya's post and read the bad news about one of our PTC sites called 07bux. I have been a member of that site for quite a while. Not a premium member though, so it is taking me so long to reach the minimum cashout. But, I am so close to it. Here's the news, after the site was down for over a week, they finally came back up, however, all the members were asked to register again because all our information, earnings etc. were gone!! Oh no!! I was so close to reaching out the minimim cashout! Darn!!! Now I have to start over... that sucks! :(

Cool Gadget

<--- Look at this gadget. A cool gadget called GoPro Digital Hero 3, which can be used as Scuba Diving, Kayaking, or Surfing Camera. This is just one of the many devices you can find in helmetcameracentral.com. If you are a surfer I am sure you would like to get one, because you can just put this in your wrist, catch some waves and snap a couple of shots. It is three megapixel and compatible with Windows ME/2000/XP/Vista or Mac OS 9.1/10.2 and no driver required. For more info, visit helmetcameracentral.com.

America Made History...

I was so thrilled last night when I finally heard the announcement that Barack Obama is the newly elected President of the United States of America. I cannot believe that I was part of this history. I am certain that many people do not agree with the outcome but hopefully, they would respect Obama as he works hard in trying to pull this country out of the rut. By the way, I applaud Sen. John McCain for delivering the most gracious concession speech.

Below are some part of his speech that I like the most...

...It's the answer spoken by young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Latino, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled - Americans who sent a message to the world that we have never been a collection of Red States and Blue States: we are, and always will be, the United States of America.

...Let us resist the temptation to fall back on the same partisanship and pettiness and immaturity that has poisoned our politics for so long. Let us remember that it was a man from this state who first carried the banner of the Republican Party to the White House - a party founded on the values of self-reliance, individual liberty, and national unity. Those are values we all share, and while the Democratic Party has won a great victory tonight, we do so with a measure of humility and determination to heal the divides that have held back our progress. As Lincoln said to a nation far more divided than ours, "We are not enemies, but friends...though passion may have strained it must not break our bonds of affection." And to those Americans whose support I have yet to earn - I may not have won your vote, but I hear your voices, I need your help, and I will be your President too.

Protection Plus Detection

I am a member of quite a few PTC (paid-to-click) sites and there are times that when I am clicking, there are some unwanted ads that keep popping up even though I have internet filters and pop-up blockers. These ads are truly annoying because, they interrupt you in whatever you are doing, some of them will give you virus, and there are the ads that are p*ornographic in nature. What I do not understand is, why do these p*orn ads keep popping and can’t be detected and blocked by my pop-up blocker? I guess my blocker is not good enough.

I know I am an adult and matured enough to handle these ads, but I am concerned because there are times that, my son is using my computer, and I do not want him to be exposed to these explicit images and videos. I know many parents would agree to that. I am not going to dwell with the problem however. I am more into finding the solution. And so far, I believe that SurfRecon, a p*ornography-detection tool, is what we can use. It allows you to scan your computer, detect, and see what the filter missed. This can be used in conjunction with the filter. As they said, filter’s protection plus detection is the ultimate solution for Internet safety! Get it now from SurfRecon.com!

I Am Proud To Say That...

After voting, they would give you this sticker that you can show at work or at school in case you are late (at least that's what the lady at the voting site said) :D

My original plan was to vote a bit later in the day, but last night hubby said that I can vote before he goes to work so he can watch our little bulilit here instead of dragging him to wait in line with me.

Last night I went to bed early and set my alarm to 5 a.m. and be ready to go at 6 a.m. However, my sleep were interrupted at about past 3 a.m. and since then I wasn't able to go back to sleep... just stayed in the bed, watched the news...stood up to get ready at 5 in the morning. About 6:05 a.m. I was heading out the door... walked about two blocks to the voting site and not so surprised to see that there's a long line already. Approximately 50 or 60 people ahead of me... Thankfully, the line is moving a bit fast and smoothly...Inside, they asked for my I.D. checked my name in their list and was asked to sign a sheet... They asked me if I wanted a touch screen or paper ballot.. I asked for the paper ballot as the line in the touch screen area was long...I did cast my vote and that was it! I did it! So happy and proud to have exercised one of my rights as an American citizen. Hopefully, the people I voted will do a lot of great things that would benefit the people of this country. I am talking as if the people I voted are sure gonna win :) I am a bit optimistic here ehehehehe... By the way, I am up and voted for CHANGE! :)

There's still plenty of time, get out and vote! :)

He Misses Birdy

Lately, my son has been mentioning “Birdy’s” name. I bet he misses her. Birdy was his pet Parakeet that his daddy gave him over two years back. Unfortunately, she died two months ago for an unknown reason. I like Birdy as well because she is not like other birds that are so noisy, especially in the morning when they are hungry.

He started bothering us about Birdy when he saw a few birds lurking and chirping endlessly in our backyard. I guess they are looking for food. My son thought that Birdy is one of them and just when he was starting to enjoy watching them, the birds flew away (found no food). He cried a bit cause he thought that his Parakeet is one of them. I guess we need to buy him a new bird or two, perhaps three. What we can probably do also is to check out some birdfeeders and get one to draw more birds in the backyard for him to observe and enjoy. Check out the picture below, do you think this will do?

I love this one. A traditional and charming wooden birdfeeder and has a 5 lb. seed capacity from birdfeeders.com. But since there are a lot of choices in their website, I have not decided yet if this is really the one that I want to buy. I guess I need to ask the opinion of my little one huh.
