Went Fishing

Oh my! Today, Kuletz has been bugging his daddy to buy worms so they can go fishing. I don't know what's with the worm but the boy is not scared to play with it. Darn! I said you are so nasty! He said, "No mommy, I'm not." I am not afraid to pick up the worm and put the darn thing to the fishing hook, but play with it on my hands? No way! Ewww! Anyway, we went fishing but he did not catch anything. Maybe next time. Now, I'm about to relax, relax and relax. See you all later :)

It was Fun !

I had a very long but fun day today. My MIL and I attended a baby shower and I was able to see some of my husband's relatives that I have not seen in a very long time. Aunt Sandra is one of them and as always, it's fun to talk and just be around her. She makes me feel very comfortable even at one point, I felt like I'm out of place because I am the only Asian there. :) By the way, food were great too! :) Oh well, since I'm full already, all I needed to do now is to go to bed. Later!

It's Past Two

It is past 2 a.m. and here I am still up. I can't sleep. I am craving for some chinese food, steak and raspberry cheesecake. Darn! This is what I get from watching too much Food Network and Cooking Channel shows. I am not hungry though. I am just craving like I am pregnant... lol... but at this point the preggy issue is impossible ehehehe:) Anyways, I’m gonna go back to bed and try to knock myself off coz I need to wake up early. Later all!

Too Much Good Stuff !

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of AMPM. All opinions are 100% mine.

My car is still stuck in the garage waiting to be fixed. I miss driving and going to one of my preferred gas station in Munster, Indiana. I keep going back to that place, even if it’s out of my way, because they have my favorite convenience store called ampm. Actually, it is more than just a convenience store because they have too much good stuff, from your morning coffee to tasty snacks and beverages. They also have an enormous selection of hot foods with their do-it-yourself, and always fresh condiment bar.

Anyways, The most interesting part of the selection is their secret menu items. You are not going to believe what are the ingredients in their secret menu items! You want to find out more about this secret buzz? Check out their facebook page and click on the secret menu tab, voila! You will find out all the “secret ingredients” in their secret menu items. :) I’m sure you’re gonna love it too as many people do! Here are some of my favorites: (1) Tower of Torta – consist of beef, chicken and pork tortas. This one I’m fond because it is like fiesta in your mouth when you have you first bite. Who can resist, beef, chicken and pork? (2) The Chili Conquistador – it is a burger topped with chili and spicy Funyuns. Yummy!! By the way, let us know which one is your favorite by leaving a comment on their page. Also, mark these dates on your calendar because new yums are coming out - 7/26, 8/2, 8/9, 8/16, 8/30 and on August 2nd, we can create our own ampm secret menu blend. How exciting is that? :)

Work, Work, Work

I am thankful that my son is now alright. Thank God! So as much as I don't want to work tomorrow, I have to because we need to make some moolah, right? :) Today is not a bad day either. I actually think it was a productive day coz I was able to do few blogging opportunities. Then, I did some household chores. In addition, I had a delicious dinner and had the chance to watch some of my favorite television shows (NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, The Good Wife, Matlock and Murder, She Wrote) Yay! I guess all I needed to do is to take my b*tt to bed and go to sleep so I can wake up early… yeah, I think that’s what I’m going to do… :) nighty night all!

SupaSwap Anyone ?

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of SupaSwap Corporation. All opinions are 100% mine.

Have you heard of a website called SupaSwap.com? It’s my first time to have heard it from a friend. She mentioned that it is like eBay, except that they are more focused in serving parents and children. I find it very interesting so I checked it myself. I understand that SupaSwap is an online shopping community where parents and kids can bid, buy, sell or even swap with other members’ items like video games, toys, gadgets, books and more . In my humble opinion, it is a safe place for parents and kids because parents or guardians need to confirm and authorize the registration of any teens or juniors; and same goes when the kids want to swap, bid or sell anything on the site. I find the website so easy to navigate and it is simple yet attractive with the use of colorful designs.

What I love most about their site is the idea of swapping. You know how kids easily get tired of their toys? They love to buy those expensive video games and after using it a few times, they do not want to play with it anymore. With Supaswap, children are allowed to trade those games with other members, which is a neat idea and surely economical for parents as well. Speaking of games, Supaswap has a game zone where anybody can play as many games as they want from their list of available games and for as long as they like. They do not even have to register to be able to play. It is updated regularly so kids like, my son, will not easily get bored. Isn’t that interesting? Well then, visit their website now at SupaSwap.com. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!

Still At Home

I am still at home right now (not fun to be at home, when someone’s sick), trying to take care of my son because his temperature is still not normal. He’s fever is on and off and he’s coughing every now and then. Right now, his temperature is normal and he’s resting while watching Shrek II (for the nth time-dubbed in French lol). He ate a little cereal earlier so I was able to give him his medicine. Anyway, since he’s okay--at least for right now, I get the chance to get on the internet and was able to reserve a few opps, did my data entry job a little bit and hoping I’d get the chance to update my first blog ever, which the last entry was January 2009. I better stop talking and start doing lol… later!

Going Back To School

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Ashworth College. All opinions are 100% mine.

After being a stay-at-home/work-at-home mom for a long period of time, last October 2009 I finally landed a job. I am now working at a daycare as a teacher’s assistant. One of the requirements in working for them is to have a mandatory 15 hours in-service or training. Last May 2010 I attended a seminar in Special Care to complete my 15 hours. In our session, our trainer mentioned that in 2013 all employees working in a childcare setting has to have at least an Associate Degree in Early Childhood and/or a Bachelor’s Degree in Education in order for an employee to continue to work in a Childcare center and that they are trying to legalize it. What does that mean? She said that this means, a higher pay rate for those who have a degree in Early Childhood.

When I was still a stay-at-home mom, I have always been thinking of going back to school not just to prepare myself in re-entering the workforce, but for self-enrichment as well. Anyway, having heard that news in our seminar, makes me even want to pursue it. Since I am working at a daycare, I am thinking of getting an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education. However, going to school and having to take care of my son is a tremendous challenge, unless of course, it is through distance education. Online schools like Ashworth is probably the perfect way for me to get an Online degree. Why Ashworth? First off, I’d like the idea of studying in my own pace and also because other than having over 100 nationally accredited certificates and degrees to choose from, they also offer a tuition fee (which includes all books and course materials) that is at least 50% lower than most, zero-interest financing, and an affordable monthly payment plan that other online schools don’t offer. This means, their students will graduate without drowning in student loan debt.

For moms like me, enrolling in Ashworth is something to think about. Furthering our education is definitely a way to improve our self-confidence and maintain our personal identity.

Sick Again

I am at home right now taking care of my sick son. He woke up the usual way, but when were getting ready to leave for the daycare, he told me he has a headache. At first, I thought he’s just being too lazy again (he does that when he doesn’t wanna go to school or daycare, unbelievable!) So I asked him if he’s okay. He said no. Took his temperature and he has 100.7 fever. Since my friend is on her way to pick us up, I decided to still go to the daycare and just let them know that I won’t be coming in for the day. We then stopped by at one of the Walgreens nearby and bought him an Ibuprofen and some cold medicine. When we get to the house, he hopped into his bed. He ate a few Ritz crackers and I gave him the Ibuprofen and put cold compress on his head. He fell asleep afterwards. He is up now and his temperature is normal (Thank God). He said his head is still aching but just a little bit. Hope he feels much better soon.

Internet Connection

I don't know what is wrong with our internet connection. It's been on and off for two days now. I can't even update my blogs nor check if there are some opportunities that I could grab. Anyhow, I'm just trying to write this one, just in case our connection will be off again later on. I'm off to work now.. Hopefully, I'll be able to connect later. Have a great day! See yah!

Past Bed Time

Okay, okay, said I’m going to bed…I’m sleepy okay! But I had to do a task that I just can’t let me pass :) It is past midnight and I’m guessing tomorrow I will be needing a strong cup of coffee or two (though I’m not really an avid fan of coffee). Okay enough of my babbling… I really need to go to bed :) Later gator!

On Demand Feature

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Charter. All opinions are 100% mine.

Back in the day, in order for you to watch your favorite shows on television is to either go home in a hurry or have someone record it for you so you will not fail to see it. Doesn’t it sucks when you have to adjust your schedule just to not miss your most loved TV shows? Even watching movies back then is a bit of a hassle. We used to go to video stores and have to browse the store’s entire collection of VHS or DVD and rent it. But those days are long gone. Watching your favorite shows and movies has now turned into a different story.

Nowadays, if you are a digital cable TV subscriber, missing a television show or renting a movie is next to impossible. One great example is the Charter TV On Demand. On Demand is a feature that let you watch movies or television shows anytime you want at the touch of your remote. You can rewind, fast forward, even pause and come back to it later just like you do a DVD player. This means that if you missed an episode of your fave TV show, like Burn Notice on USA Channel (which is one of my absolute favorite), you can still watch it through On Demand. Visit their On Demand home page and see their library of over 6,000 movies and shows, which you will truly like because many are totally free. You will ‘Like’ their Facebook page as well. Get back to me and see how well you “like” it. Enjoy! :)

Tiring But An A-OK Day

I’m a little tired today. I can’t believe that our kids who took vacations are back. We have at least 16 kids altogether and had to move 4 kids to another room as the maximum kids we are allowed to have in our room is 12. Since four of the kids have been away for quite a while, they were all crying almost the entire day. It will take about a week or so for them to get use to us again. Oh well… it will get better… for now, I’m ready to go to bed… I’m so sleepy! Nighty night folks!

DarkQ ?

When I started blogging, I have met quite a few wonderful people. However, I stopped writing on my blog for about a year. I guess I had a hard time adjusting to my new schedule of having a full-time job and being a full-time mommy. I just thought I had a lot on my plate and I just could not find time to even visit my own blog. Anyway, a few months ago, I started blogging again and I just realized how much I miss writing and reading blog articles.

One of my favorite blogs to visit is the website of my gay friend. I have not met him in person yet, but he’s a very nice person. Through his blog is where I found out about the DarkQ’s gay blog. I read some articles in DarkQ’s and they are interesting. Different authors mostly contribute the blog articles and it covers diverse topics. Though most topics are about gay life, they also talk about family matters, relationships, health and beauty, celebrities and even movies, the reason why I enjoyed reading many of their articles :)

Bummer!

I don’t know what is wrong my internet connection. It has been acting up since last night. It's like on and off...One of my tasks expired coz I can’t connect. I ended up watching the television hoping after a few minutes have passed by that it would be okay, but heck! I fell asleep and all and I still can’t connect. What a bummer! Oh well, better luck next time.

Men's Makeup

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of The Men Pen. All opinions are 100% mine.

Sometimes my hubby pisses me off when he would ask me and my son to get ready so we could go to such and such place, then, it’s him who’s taking forever in getting himself ready. I could be out the door in 30 minutes or less, but him? Oh no! He spends a lot of time in the bathroom just shaving and taking a shower. Isn’t it somewhat unusual for a man to be vain? I found out though that he is taking so much time in front of the mirror trying to come up with a solution in hiding his razor bumps. I guess he’s thinking if there are any mens makeup that he could use to conceal it. If that’s his problem, he should have asked me for a solution. He knows very well that I’m always on the internet and I have seen so many products that I didn’t even know existed, like mens cosmetics, a solution to his problem. :)

Yes folks! There is a concealer specifically made for men called The Men Pen. Just like women’s makeup, it has different shades (at least 17) that cover blemishes, rough spots, scars, acne, or any skin imperfections. I believe it is the same makeup that male models and actors use, which I think, would make any man who uses it more confident in themselves because those actors and models look good on screen and in their still photos all the time, right?

Deep Slumber

Oh no! It’s 6 a.m. already! I need to hurry up and do an opportunity that I reserved yesterday. My plan was to do it last night after I take a quick nap but I fell in a deep slumber instead. I must be really, really tired. I didn’t even get the chance to watch the 10 o’clock news in its entirety. Darn! Oh well, stop with the whining and start with the doing :) Good morning all!

Friendgiftr

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of FriendGiftr. All opinions are 100% mine.

I have only been working at my present job for almost 9 months and one of the people that I enjoyed being around with is our director. She is a nice, bubbly, and fun loving person. Everyday she always greets you with a smile. She will walk in every room just to make sure that her staff is doing alright. She is very approachable and dedicated to her job. However, for an unknown reason, she has just resigned recently. We were all in total shock.

We miss her so much. It was her birthday two days ago and did contemplate on what to give her. Some suggested that we give her the usual birthday card, cake, flowers, so on, and so forth. In the end, we agreed to giving her a birthday card and a gift card. Not your typical gift card though, it is one of those you can get at FriendGiftr. You can’t go wrong with that. Why? Because even if she does not like the store that we chose, she has an option to change it to whatever store or merchant she likes with no additional cost. She can even split the gift card to multiple merchants if she chooses. By the way, a Kohl’s gift card is what we are set to get because most of us at the daycare loves to shop at Kohls. Incidentally, that is one of my favorite stores as well.

one of my favorite stores

I remember last Mother's Day, it took me an entire day searching for a gift for my mother-in-law and still ended up with nothing. I wish I’ve known about Friendgiftr then. It would have made my gift searching and life easier. With our technology now, getting gift cards from Friendgiftr is even more convenient because other than their website, you can also avail their service through iPhone, Blackberry, Android and even in Facebook! Just choose a merchant, customize and send! It can’t get any easier than that. :)

Everyday Dilemma

Oh lordy! I’m telling you, my son is killing me lol! He hates going to the daycare. Everyday I have to drag him out of the bed so he can brush his teeth, shower and get ready to go to the daycare. I understand his feeling though. He just wanted to stay at home so he can relax, play, play, and play some more during his summer vacation (mommy has to go to work so he has to be in a daycare). However, when he gets to the daycare, he’s acting like he does not wanna go home, lol! Every Monday they have inflated jump thingy at the daycare, then on Tuesdays, they’d go bowling, on Wednesdays, there’s a sports coach coming over and have them do some exercise routines, Thursdays, they roller skates and on Fridays, they have field trips. On top of that, they also go to parks and do many indoor and outdoor activities.

NMEDA, What Is It ?

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of NMEDA. All opinions are 100% mine.

In my previous post, I kept whining about waking up so early to attend a special care training that is needed for my present job. Now I realized that I did not lose anything but a few hours of sleep and gained a tremendous amount of information from our trainer, who is a very nice lady. She discussed about getting to know children/adult with disabilities (which I prefer to call them people with special needs), building relationships with their families, and how to include people with special needs in daily activities.

The last topic that I mentioned above is what hit me most because some people who have physical limitations tend to just exclude themselves from the world, which unfortunately, should not be the case. There are certain trainings, special services, and equipment that they can use for them to have more freedom and independence. Let say for example, they need wheelchairs, or vehicles with modified mobility equipment, they can rely on NMEDA(National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association).

NMEDA members (dealers) are dedicated people who made sure that they strictly adhere to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and NMEDA safety policies and guidelines. These members, who went through an NMEDA accreditation called Quality Assurance Program or QAP, are the ones who sell high quality mobility equipments, handicap vans and will do vehicle modifications for disabled people. QAP is given to dealers to make sure that they meet the guidelines in accordance to motor vehicle safety standards.

NMEDA by the way does not sell anything to consumers. They are a non-profit trade association of mobility equipment dealers and driver rehabilitation specialists. NMEDA is there for you to help you get the right equipment or vehicles that fits your daily life and needs. They sure will make you and your family’s life easier.

If you think you need NMEDA, check out their website and enter your zip code to see the dealers closest to you. I did and found at least five in my area.

Hot And Humid Again!

Boy oh boy! It was another hot and humid day here in the chicagoland people! I am not liking it. I wanted to get something to eat during my lunch break, but as soon as I stepped out of the door, man! I couldn’t breathe! There was not a bit of breeze outside. It was killing me! Thank God, one of my co-workers offered to get me some food. She was so nice! Thanks Ms. Star!

Beach Vacation

Hey folks! How’s everybody doing? I had a very long day at work today. I did not get the chance to eat lunch because we had a meeting. We are asked to bring our lunches but I forgot, my bad. In addition, I had a bad headache because it was very hot and humid all day here in the Chicagoland.

I wish I could just take sometime off work and go somewhere where I can just walk in a white sandy beach, enjoy nature, and relax. A nice spot would probably be a place like Avila Beach California wherein it is not affected by the oil spill. You can forget about work and just enjoy the ocean breeze, fine dining, spa and outdoor activities Avila Beach has to offer. That would be wonderful. However, for right now, I don’t have the luxury to take a vacation. Maybe you, on your next vacation, would consider Avila Beach. Let me know how you enjoyed it. :)

Impromptu BBQ

Yesterday (July 3rd) while I was trying to update my blog, doing the laundry, watching t.v. and in the midst of chatting with a friend and my sister, my mother-in-law came by (which I didn't even notice coz I was busy doing the above mentioned stuff) hubby came to me and told me to run to the store and gave me a list. Thank God, I showered already so off I go with my MIL... came back and the grill is ready. All I had to do is to rinse the meat (chicken wings/breast, turkey sausage/burger and steak) that I just bought and seasoned it and throw 'em on the grill. I was a bit upset coz I didn't know that my hubby wanted us to have a little cook-out and invited my MIL. Nevertheless, everything turned out well. My MIL and me whipped up the dinner in probably less than 30 minutes lol! Thanks to canned baked beans, and boxed mac n' cheese and ready made coleslaw and fresh corn :P ... and for dessert, we had fresh fruits and pies. :) So just yesterday, I gained 10 pounds, :D yaiks! Oh well, that's all I can say ehehehehe

Gone Fishing

My two boys just gone fishing and left me in the house hu...hu...hu... oh well, I didn't really wanna go :) I wanted to relax a little bit. Been exhausted at work for the past week so, I feel like I just needed to stay home, get me a nice meal, shower and just relax and vegge out in front of the television. I'm having my little me time of peace and quiet right now :) Yay! It's been a while since I had my "me" time :)
