Kmart's Mr. Bluelight

Yellow smiley face is passé already guys. Make way for Kmart’s Mr. Bluelight! Remember him? Well, he is our new pal this holiday season. Mr. Bluelight would not only give us dazzling ideas in this season of gift giving, but also many items in great values that would save us a lot of money. This is one of the reasons why I have been convincing my husband to shop at Kmart. He is a bit stubborn though. He wants to shop at his fave “W” store thinking that they are still offering layaway program. I told him beforehand that they do not offer it anymore, but he still went to “W” to check if I was right. And I was right!

Anyways, after finding it out for himself, we went to Kmart. I am telling you, Mr. Bluelight is all over the place, which is a good sign, because I know we will be saving a lot. Hubby bought some turtleneck shirts for him and our little one, a couple of Spongebob Squarepants DVDs, some electronic items and a few other knick-knacks. He looked at some stuff (an LCD flatscreen t.v. for one) that he would like to put in Kmart Layaway program but he said, he would do it the next time because the line in the layaway counter is tremendously long. I think many people are realizing that Kmart is currently the only national store that offers layaway. Well, I cannot blame them because during this weak economy, tight budget, and the likes, program like Kmart Layaway is such a huge help.

By the way, here are some of the great holiday values that you can find exclusively at Kmart:

• Celebrations by Radko, a unique assortment of boxed glass ornaments exclusively for Kmart. The new collection by Christopher Radko®, the original manufacturer of handmade glass ornaments and holiday collectibles.
• Jaclyn Smith 100-percent cashmere sweaters
• Range of home electronic systems from Samsung, Sony and Panasonic – all at affordable prices
• Wide variety of the popular Joe Boxer apparel for the family, including fleece, loungewear and sleepwear.

Kmart Lay-away Program

My friend, who is a single parent, is a huge fan of layaway programs. It helps her a lot especially during back-to-school and holiday seasons. I have not done lay-away before but my friend keeps encouraging me to do it because she said that it is a great alternative to credit cards. It allows you to purchase goods without taking on additional high interests and without the concern of being rejected for lack of credit merit. Well, Who would not want programs like that in this kind of economy? Money is always tight and credit card is not even an option. She was a bit disappointed however, when major stores stopped offering them.

But guess what? I saw this ad on television about Kmart Lay-Away, got so excited cause I checked it out, and the program is available in the Kmart store that is close to where my friend and I live. I think for the first time, I will be using Kmart Lay-away program. How does it work? Let us say you want an item but at that moment you don’t have enough money to pay for it, if you put it in lay-away, all you have to do is to pay a small down payment and then they will put the item on hold for you and you will have 8 weeks to pay the entire amount. Isn’t that wonderful?

<--This is the item that I want to put in Kmart Lay-away. My husband did not want me to get it because he thinks Wii is just for kids and teenagers. But I don’t believe that because I have seen plenty of Wii games that entertain the whole family. I am sure all of us will enjoy it. Anyway, he cannot do anything now because he won’t be able to see it till Christmas cause Kmart can hold it for me. Smart huh?! : -)
