Going Back To School

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Ashworth College. All opinions are 100% mine.

After being a stay-at-home/work-at-home mom for a long period of time, last October 2009 I finally landed a job. I am now working at a daycare as a teacher’s assistant. One of the requirements in working for them is to have a mandatory 15 hours in-service or training. Last May 2010 I attended a seminar in Special Care to complete my 15 hours. In our session, our trainer mentioned that in 2013 all employees working in a childcare setting has to have at least an Associate Degree in Early Childhood and/or a Bachelor’s Degree in Education in order for an employee to continue to work in a Childcare center and that they are trying to legalize it. What does that mean? She said that this means, a higher pay rate for those who have a degree in Early Childhood.

When I was still a stay-at-home mom, I have always been thinking of going back to school not just to prepare myself in re-entering the workforce, but for self-enrichment as well. Anyway, having heard that news in our seminar, makes me even want to pursue it. Since I am working at a daycare, I am thinking of getting an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education. However, going to school and having to take care of my son is a tremendous challenge, unless of course, it is through distance education. Online schools like Ashworth is probably the perfect way for me to get an Online degree. Why Ashworth? First off, I’d like the idea of studying in my own pace and also because other than having over 100 nationally accredited certificates and degrees to choose from, they also offer a tuition fee (which includes all books and course materials) that is at least 50% lower than most, zero-interest financing, and an affordable monthly payment plan that other online schools don’t offer. This means, their students will graduate without drowning in student loan debt.

For moms like me, enrolling in Ashworth is something to think about. Furthering our education is definitely a way to improve our self-confidence and maintain our personal identity.
