Labor Day

My Labor Day weekend started on Thursday, cause I was off work. Hmmm... what did I do? First off, I had to finish the kdrama that I started watching. I had to stop watching it when we went camping. Anyways, after I watched it, I found a new couple that became my instant favorite! The show is called We Got Married. This is were I found my all time favorite couple... the JoongBo couple (Kim Hyun Joong and Hwang Bo).

Anyhow, my new fave couple that made me so giddy is Julien Kang and Yoon Se Ah. Julien is a Korean/Canadian actor while Yoon Se Ah is a famous Korean actress. Ahh... I don't know what to say, but they look so cute together even though Se Ah is 4 years older than Julien. I finished the entire 29 episodes in 2 days :).

Here are some of their photos:

Note:
We Got Married (Hangul우리 결혼했어요) is a South Korean reality variety show, one segment of the Sunday Sunday Night program. First broadcast in 2008, the show pairs up Korean celebrities to show what life would be like if they were married.[1] Each week, couples are assigned missions to complete, with candid interviews of the participants to reveal their thoughts and feelings.

Had A Great Weekend Getaway

I had a fun weekend! :) Tiring but fun. We went on a camping trip in Michigan last Friday, the 26th. The person that enjoyed it more is my son. The place was nice. Though I’ve been there a few times, I particularly liked it because we stayed in a log cabin instead of sleeping in a tent. I don’t mind sleeping in a tent, but it’s more comfortable staying in a cabin with a queen size and a bunk bed in it. By the way, me and my boy put up his tent. He didn't sleep there come night time, but he stayed there during the day while playing with his tablet. lol :) Anyway, It was cool in the camping site. It was over 80 degrees, but you can't feel it because it was breezy. It felt like it was in the 70s until you go to the beach, where the sun is scorching hot (but the water is freezing cold!) Anyhow, we did the normal camping thingy, you know, grilling, bonfire, swimming and walking in the sandy beach, trekking in the camping site’s dunes, and all. I even watched the sunset. It was beautiful, but, stupid me I didn’t take a photo. Yeah, I know it was stupid of me…really! Oh well, maybe next time :) I will try to post some photos as soon as my hubby decided to send me a copy. It was his camera so yeah; I have to wait whenever he feels like sending it. Good luck with that! That’s all for now folks… I’m back to my regular programming… work, lazing around the house and watching my Korean drama :)

P.S. I noticed that I have a lot of smiley face on my post... lol

Going On A Trip

Tomorrow, we will be going on a camping trip. I'm not gonna say where, but will post it when I get back on Sunday. I know it's gonna be fun. The boy here is very excited. He can't wait to sleep in his new tent and swim in the beach. I'm going to miss my Korean drama, oh well. It can wait :) Till next time. Annyeong!

A Good Read

I am not sure if I have seen this on Facebook or Twitter, I can't remember. Reading it brought tears to my eyes, thinking that somehow, there's someone who truly understands us, women. I'd like to thank him for sharing it.

Here's the direct link to his blog:  love story from a male perspective

Beautiful advice from a divorced man after 16 years of marriage

My advice after a divorce following 16 years of marriage, by Gerald Rogers.
Obviously, I’m not a relationship expert. But there’s something about my divorce being finalized this week that gives me perspective of things I wish I would have done different… After losing a woman that I loved, and a marriage of almost 16 years, here’s the advice I wish I would have had
1. Never stop courting. Never stop dating. NEVER EVER take that woman for granted. When you asked her to marry you, you promised to be that man that would OWN HER HEART and to fiercely protect it. This is the most important and sacred treasure you will ever be entrusted with. SHE CHOSE YOU. Never forget that, and NEVER GET LAZY in your love.
2. Protect your own heart. Just as you committed to being the protector of her heart, you must guard your own with the same vigilance. Love yourself fully, love the world openly, but there is a special place in your heart where no one must enter except for your wife. Keep that space always ready to receive her and invite her in, and refuse to let anyone or anything else enter there.
3. Fall in love over and over again.  You will constantly change. You’re not the same people you were when you got married, and in five years you will not be the same person you are today. Change will come, and in that you have to re-choose each other everyday. SHE DOESN’T HAVE TO STAY WITH YOU, and if you don’t take care of her heart, she may give that heart to someone else or seal you out completely, and you may never be able to get it back. Always fight to win her love just as you did when you were courting her.
4. Always see the best in her. Focus only on what you love. What you focus on will expand. If you focus on what bugs you, all you will see is reasons to be bugged. If you focus on what you love, you can’t help but be consumed by love. Focus to the point where you can no longer see anything but love, and you know without a doubt that you are the luckiest man on earth to be have this woman as your wife.
5. It’s not your job to change or fix her… your job is to love her as she is with no expectation of her ever changing. And if she changes, love what she becomes, whether it’s what you wanted or not.
6. Take full accountability for your own emotions: It’s not your wife’s job to make you happy, and she CAN’T make you sad. You are responsible for finding your own happiness, and through that your joy will spill over into your relationship and your love.
7. Never blame your wife if you get frustrated or angry at her, it is only because it is triggering something inside of YOU. They are YOUR emotions, and your responsibility. When you feel those feelings take time to get present and to look within and understand what it is inside of YOU that is asking to be healed. You were attracted to this woman because she was the person best suited to trigger all of your childhood wounds in the most painful way so that you could heal them… when you heal yourself, you will no longer be triggered by her, and you will wonder why you ever were.
8. Allow your woman to just be. When she’s sad or upset, it’s not your job to fix it, it’s your job to HOLD HER and let her know it’s ok. Let her know that you hear her, and that she’s important and that you are that pillar on which she can always lean. The feminine spirit is about change and emotion and like a storm her emotions will roll in and out, and as you remain strong and unjudging she will trust you and open her soul to you… DON’T RUN-AWAY WHEN SHE’S UPSET. Stand present and strong and let her know you aren’t going anywhere. Listen to what she is really saying behind the words and emotion.
9. Be silly… don’t take yourself so damn seriously. Laugh. And make her laugh. Laughter makes everything else easier.
10. Fill her soul everyday… learn her love languages and the specific ways that she feels important and validated and CHERISHED. Ask her to create a list of 10 THINGS that make her feel loved and memorize those things and make it a priority everyday to make her feel like a queen.
11. Be present. Give her not only your time, but your focus, your attention and your soul. Do whatever it takes to clear your head so that when you are with her you are fully WITH HER. Treat her as you would your most valuable client. She is.
12. Be willing to take her sexually, to carry her away in the power of your masculine presence, to consume her and devour her with your strength, and to penetrate her to the deepest levels of her soul. Let her melt into her feminine softness as she knows she can trust you fully.
13. Don’t be an idiot…. And don’t be afraid of being one either. You will make mistakes and so will she. Try not to make too big of mistakes, and learn from the ones you do make. You’re not supposed to be perfect, just try to not be too stupid.
14. Give her space… The woman is so good at giving and giving, and sometimes she will need to be reminded to take time to nurture herself. Sometimes she will need to fly from your branches to go and find what feeds her soul, and if you give her that space she will come back with new songs to sing…. (okay, getting a little too poetic here, but you get the point. Tell her to take time for herself, ESPECIALLY after you have kids. She needs that space to renew and get re-centered, and to find herself after she gets lost in serving you, the kids and the world.)
15. Be vulnerable… you don’t have to have it all together. Be willing to share your fears and feelings, and quick to acknowledge your mistakes.
16. Be fully transparent. If you want to have trust you must be willing to share EVERYTHING… Especially those things you don’t want to share. It takes courage to fully love, to fully open your heart and let her in when you don’t know i she will like what she finds… Part of that courage is allowing her to love you completely, your darkness as well as your light. DROP THE MASK… If you feel like you need to wear a mask around her, and show up perfect all the time, you will never experience the full dimension of what love can be.
17. Never stop growing together… The stagnant pond breeds malaria, the flowing stream is always fresh and cool. Atrophy is the natural process when you stop working a muscle, just as it is if you stop working on your relationship. Find common goals, dreams and visions to work towards.
18. Don’t worry about money. Money is a game, find ways to work together as a team to win it. It never helps when teammates fight. Figure out ways to leverage both persons strength to win.
19. Forgive immediately and focus on the future rather than carrying weight from the past. Don’t let your history hold you hostage. Holding onto past mistakes that either you or she makes, is like a heavy anchor to your marriage and will hold you back. FORGIVENESS IS FREEDOM. Cut the anchor loose and always choose love.
20. Always choose love. ALWAYS CHOOSE LOVE. In the end, this is the only advice you need. If this is the guiding principle through which all your choices is governed, there is nothing that will threaten the happiness of your marriage. Love will always endure.
In the end marriage isn’t about happily ever after. It’s about work. And a commitment to grow together and a willingness to continually invest in creating something that can endure eternity. Through that work, the happiness will come. Marriage is life, and it will bring ups and downs. Embracing all of the cycles and learning to learn from and love each experience will bring the strength and perspective to keep building, one brick at a time.
These are lessons I learned the hard way. These are lessons I learned too late. But these are lessons I am learning and committed in carrying forward. Truth is, I loved being married, and in time, I will get married again, and when I do, I will build it with a foundation that will endure any storm and any amount of time.
If you are reading this and find wisdom in my pain, share it those those young husbands whose hearts are still full of hope, and with those couples you may know who may have forgotten how to love. One of those men may be like I was, and in these hard earned lessons perhaps something will awaken in him and he will learn to be the man his lady has been waiting for.
MEN- THIS IS YOUR CHARGE: Commit to being an EPIC LOVER. There is no greater challenge, and no greater prize. Your woman deserves that from. Be the type of husband your wife can’t help but brag about.

Sad...sad...Happy..happy..

Sad...sad...

I said I wanted to update this blog and tell you a story how I ended up admiring a couple that's truly out of this world... But anyways, I still have plenty of time, I guess, to continue their story... :) plus heck! No one's reading my blog anyways...lol

Happy...happy...

On another note, today, is my  " kulets' " first day of school. I asked him if he's nervous and said, "No Mom, I'm excited". Well, I am not. I am more nervous than he is. Everything turned out fine though. I dropped him off, met his teachers, paid the registration fee and left. Will pick him up later at 3 o'clock.. So mommy here has free time from 8:35-3:00 since I'm off work today. Yay for me! Korean drama marathon. :) See you in a bit!

Not Finish Updating

It has been a busy and tiring week for me therefore the updating on my blog is on the very slow side :(... not on the lazy mode this time, just really, really tired. I intend to finish updating this blog though. It may take me a while, but I will finish it... I might even "fast forward" everything.. meaning, I will make the long stories short :P Anyways, since it's 4:14 a.m. I gotta hit the sack! Later peeps!

Their First Meeting

Their first meeting was on Jeju Island (Jejudo), their supposedly honeymoon. :) It was probably an arranged meeting. However, they have no idea whom they’re being partnered with. Finally, they saw and greeted each other (awkwardly ofcourse lol). On the interview room KHJ said: “I really didn’t think that it would be HwangBo noona (older sister). I thought that it would be a cute girl. But when I saw HwangBo noona, It was really unexpected.” HwangBo Hye Jung (HBHJ) started clapping with a big smile on her face and said: “How do I say this…I won the lottery?” They were very awkward while driving to their destination. They talked about the year they were born, how they would call each other, that the husband needs to earn lots of money and if the husband will do everything a girl tells him to do. It is like the wife is investigating the husband’s personality… He said that he wont do ridiculous things like give me the stars in the sky… to him that’s very cheesy/annoying (and perhaps unrealistic).

first meeting/driving to their destination

When they got to their honeymoon suite, the wife brought out lots of shirts. She wants both of them to wear it. But since the husband didn’t like cheesy things like wearing couple shirts, he fix/reformed (as per translation) the shirt so as not to look like couple shirts.

"fixing/reforming" the shirt so it won't look like couple shirts
After that scene, they went to a fishing trip. They fished for 6 hours and didn’t catch any. Since they didn't catch anything, the husband had prepared a dinner for two (provided by the yacth). My fave scene here is their "love shot" :)

This Is It !

Since I hibernated for a very long time in blogging, I'm sure no one's reading my posts anymore. That's okay... I just had the urge to revive/update my blog because of the reality show I came to enjoy and one of the couples in it that I came to adore and love. I wanted to write/document everything I could about them and be able to go back and read it over and over again till I'm 90 years old (that is if Blogger is still alive and kicking) :P Anyways, the reality show is called We Got Married, sometimes it's We Just Married. It was first broadcast in 2008. The show pairs up Korean celebrities to show what life would be like if they were married. Each week, couples are assigned missions to complete, with candid interviews of the participants to reveal their thoughts and feelings. All of the recorded material is then played in front of the participants (the celebrity couples), MCs, and audience who add commentary or clarification. We Got Married, as far as I know, is not scripted. So the dialogues/conversations between couples, their gestures to each other, or whatever actions they do on the show was all on them. The only thing that is probably "scripted" there was their budget, their concept of the day and probably where they stayed :)

Here's a photo of my favorite couple:

The Wife: Hwangbo Hye Jung
The Husband: Kim Hyun Joong

They first appeared on the show on May 11, 2008. Hwangbo Hye Jung is six years older than Kim Hyun Joong, hence, they are called the older/younger couple. Honestly, I was not interested at first because I felt like they were not paired well. One of my friends even commented that she's not pretty enough for KHJ...However, after watching just the first episode, I got hooked. Why? I am not sure why...

...to be continued on my next post :)

Where To Start ?

I honestly wanted to write about a lot of things, but somehow, I don't know where to start. It's not that I am feeling lazy today, its just that my brain is not working properly (as always) lol! Maybe a little later or by tomorrow, I will be able to write about Kim Hyun Joong and "the other person" that I was talking about plus the reality show that I've been watching everyday over and over and over again! That's the truth! Since I've seen this show, that's all I watch everyday till I fall asleep. I don't know why! Because of "this show" I have met new online friends that's addicted to it and "them" too! Will tell you more about it later. I will recharge my brain and hopefully something good will come out of it soon! :) Later peeps!

Why I Love Boys ...

… Over Flowers? It's because it led me to watching Kim Hyun Joong and another one of a kind human being plus a Korean reality show that I have re-watched and will be re-watching probably for the rest of my life... who and what? I will definitely write another entry for that... :)

Anyway, Kim Hyun Joong or KHJ, as I would refer to him in my future entries, was one of the F4s in Boys Over Flowers. He caught my attention not much of his acting but his good looks :P. As I have mentioned, he is prettier than most, if not, some girls out there :) Even my husband asked me if HE IS A SHE! Lol

Since I am the laziest blogger in the world, here’s the link to KHJ’s bio on wikipedia for you to read :)

I've Seen A Lot of KDrama But ...

Yes, during the duration of my being a bum/jobless, I've watched a lot of Korean Drama, however, I don't think I will post all of them here...laziness attack! LOL... Anyways, there’s this one drama that really led me to one of the most important “discoveries” of my life! naks! LOL I am talking about the drama series Boys Over Flowers or Boys Before Flowers…

I think this was based on a manga story. Here’s the description from hulu.com:

Kim Joon, Kim Bum, Lee Min Ho, Koo Hye Sun and Kim Hyun Joong
Boys Over Flowers is one of the biggest Koreandrama hits of our time, sweeping ratings and awards across Asia in 2009 and2010. This Korean take on the popular Japanese manga of the same name, tacklescomplex issues involving outcasts, socio-economic disparity, family, love, andfriendship. Jan Di is an average girl whose family owns a dry cleaning storelocated near the luxurious and well known Shin Hwa High School. After saving aboy from jumping off the roof of Shin Hwa High School, Jan Di is admitted intothe school on a swimming scholarship. At school, Jan Di tries to avoidconfrontation with the four richest and most spoiled boys known as the F4,because she knows what happens to those that stand against them. However, whenJan Di's friend, Oh Min Ji, accidentally gets ice cream on the leader of theF4's shoes, she's forced to declare war on the leader of the F4, Goo Joon Pyo.What will happen though, when she falls in love with someone from the F4 andGoo Joon Pyo starts feeling something for her too? Will the love triangledisrupt F4 and change their lives forever? Get ready for addictive drama, romance and comedy at it best.

I totally fell in love with these boys! They are so handsome (one of them is prettier than a girl lol). This drama has a Japanese and Taiwanese version, however, Korean version is the best for me. It was not boring unlike the Taiwanese version that I couldn’t finish watching the 1st episode, not to mention that Korean version of the F4 is waaaaaaaaayyyyyy gorgeous than the Taiwan F4 boys. Sorry people of Taiwan, that’s just my honest and humble opinion.

Honestly, I've seen this drama countless times and every time I watch it, I still cry a river and laugh like there's no tomorrow! :) To think that I keep putting this on the back burner lol... just got so curious coz on dramafever.com alone, there's over 1000 reviews and was rated 4-5 stars out of 5. I will let you know in my next entry why this series led me to one of the most important “discoveries” of my life :)

After Secret Garden This ...

Since I fell in love with the quirky Hyun Bin in the drama Secret Garden, I "googled"  him and checked out all the show that he's been on and it led me to this... "My Lovely Sam Soon/My Name is Kim Sam Soon", another one of my fave Korean drama series...It was aired in 2005 so Hyun Bin is much younger here and much "meatier" :) FYI, he intentionally (according to some articles online) lost at least 7-8 kg for his role in Secret Garden and lost even more through the duration of the series because he's only getting about 2-3 hours of sleep. Meanwhile, Kim Sun Ah, her leading lady in My Lovely Sam Soon, put on some pounds for her role.

Anyway, here's a short summary of MLSS:

Secret Garden Korean Drama

Here it is folks, my second Kdrama and so far one of my favorites... this was aired, I believe in 2010 and became so popular. "Secret Garden" starring Hyun Bin (my first korean actor crush - lol) and the pretty Ha Ji Won - It is  a romantic comedy and fantasy series...It has 20 episodes (which I also finished watching in less than 24 hours :P) Can't help it, I was a bum at that time lol

I am a bit lazy right now, I don't feel like telling the whole story (sorry about that lol), so here's a brief description of this series (courtesy of hulu.com):

In this fantasy, romantic comedy, Secret Garden follows rich CEO Kim Joo Won (Hyun Bin) and poor stunt woman Gil Ra Im (Ha Ji Won) as they switch lives and learn how the other half lives - literally. Kim Joo Won has always had everything handed to him, and he makes no apologies for being wealthy and arrogant. Gil Ra Im is an orphan who works hard at every film, even though her face will never be seen by audiences. When the two of them meet, Gil Ra Im cannot stand Kim Joo Won's haughty manner, and he cannot stand Gil Ra Im's poverty. However, a mystical force changes the two of them when they switch bodies and lives. Each are affected by the other's circumstances and realize just how different their worlds are. Also starring in this hit drama are Yoon Sang Hyun (of the drama Queen of Housewives), as Joo Won's celebrity cousin Oska, and Kim Sa Rang (a former Miss Korea), as Oska's ex-girlfriend and Joo Won's potential bride through arranged marriage. The witty dialogue and sizzling chemistry between the actors have captivated audiences week after week, making it one of the hit dramas for the year.

My First KDrama

So here’s the very first kdrama that I have seen. It’s titled Young Love Jae In (but there’s many title to it actually – like Glory Jane, Men of Honor blah blah) starring Park Min Young, Lee Jang Woo and Chun Jung Myung…Anyway, though it’s typical romantic comedy (or dramedy lol)  thingy, I thought some scenes were funny, most of all it made me cry! As in I cried a river when I was watching this! I don’t know why, I guess I’m just a cry baby. But the actors/actresses were really good! You will love, adore and hate them! Lol…Just check hulu.com or dramafever.com for the complete description and if you want to watch it for free! :)

It's Been A While Peeps!

Oh wow! It's been ages ago when I posted something here... tsk! tsk! tsk! I was so busy dealing with my "new addiction" and so this what happens. I don't know if I am liking the new Blogger. I guess I need to get use to using this once again.

Speaking of my "new addiction"... since I resigned from my job ast November 2011, I found myself watching Korean Dramas (kdrama)...How it started? I was lazing around one day, flipping thru t.v. channels, I stopped when I heard this foreign sounding drama that I happened to stumble upon. It has english subtitle so I watched (or read, I should say) for a couple of minutes, then got engrossed and dissapointed when it ended...I couldn't wait for the next episode...I was very impatient then, so I got up and searched it on the internet and voila! The complete series was posted on YouTube :) I finished the whole series in lest than 24 hours... Since then, I got hooked to Kdramas, but there's a slight twist to it!!! Will let you know on my next entry :P Have a great Saturday peeps!

Getting On My Nerves

Oh Geez! These students are surely getting on my last freaking nerves! How in the world would you complain to me telling me I made a mistake in checking your darn papers, when you know that you did not really study that's why you got those flunking grades! I did not make up those grades! You did! I just merely checked them! darn it! You better get yourselves together people! You know when you enrolled in this school that this is a fast paced course, so you better study!

Ok I'm done venting :) Have a good one everybody!

Stormy Weather

Goodness gracious! I've been up since 6:30 in the morning. Had to get ready to take my son to school, had to get him ready for school, take him and after that I went to the DMV to renew my license plate. I was so thankful coz there's no line at all. I think I was there for 5 minutes...Just in and out. Unlike last year I had to wait for an hour or so. Anyway, after that I went grocery shopping.! My, oh my! The lines at the store were veryyyyy longggggg!!! I went to three stores actually.. Don't ask me why lol...But yeah, I think the people did panic about the blizzard. Yup.. actually it started snowing around 2 o'clock in the afternoon, just when I'm about to pick up my son from school. It was very windy too! Couldn't open my eyes while walking to the car. It is still going right now. We're expecting about 18-20 inches of snow... they even said, about 24 inches. So be careful out there everyone! Stay safe!

Surprised !

I am supposed to start my new job on February 7, but early this afternoon, my new boss called me and said, I need to come in tomorrow at 9 a.m. Wow! That was a surprised. It is not my regular hours however. It is just part of the orientation so I'll be more familiar with the new office, files, info, etc. On Feb. 7, I need to be there at 8:30, which is like a stretch, because I need to drop off my son at school at 8:15.. so I have 15 minutes eheheheh hopefully no red lights and no traffic :)

Orientation

The orientation went well. It's an easy job, however, there's a lot of info that I needed to know because one of my duties is to answer inquiries. Anyway, my new boss said, that everyday is a different story so I don't have to sweat it. Actually, I'm familiar with some of the info already. Another orientation day on Friday. It's a bit slow because they are in the process of moving to a new place, which is much bigger.
