Beautiful Barcelona

I have seen some of the beautiful places in Barcelona through the travel channel and some are from America’s Next Top Model cycle 7. I have always liked to visit Barcelona, Spain. But it made me want to visit more when one of my friends in social network Friendster posted her pictures taken in Barcelona. Some of her pictures was taken in front of the Gran Teatre del Liceu, which I believe, was built in 1847. She also has pictures in Montjuic, Labyrinth Park and more. She said that she stayed in one of the beautiful Barcelona Hotels (Avenida Palace or Hotel Oriente, can’t remember) which is very close to the places where she went. She added how so amazed she was with Barcelona’s wonderful architecture, their delicious Spanish cuisine and fabulous weather and culture. With that story, who wouldn’t wanna visit Barcelona?

Barcelona has to be one of the most amazing cities in the world. The sunshine is so good to the people here that they just pass happy vibes around to everyone. The sun and the sea are important here, it governs how people go about their daily lives and very rarely does anything challenge their importance. This is a city for enjoying all of the good things in life from dancing to eating to talking to swimming to just walking around. Every street is an art gallery, Barcelona has a beautiful aesthetic and you can feel it from the people even in the way they drive. One thing that has become clear as Barcelona attracts more and more tourists is that you have to make the effort to speak some Spanish because it really affects the way the locals react to you. Making an effort to speak even a little bit of Spanish can make an amazing difference - people will pay more attention to you and go that extra bit for you.

Barcelona is a city that is very European and yet very independent. There is plenty to see and do. Great masters of architecture have left their mark here and many artists have given rise to many unique and memorable works. The landscape is one of rolling hills and sandy beaches, to cobblestone medieval quarters to busy plazas. It is Spain's second city and is the autonomous region of Catalunya. It has its own language and customs and even collects a portion of national taxes. The city has a picturesque medieval quarter and some impressive central promenades throughout the city. The churches and monasteries are works of art as are some of the more prevalent modernist works, like those of Gaudy, which are dotted around the city. Whatever you are looking for Barcelona has it all. Outstanding parks and incredible museums make this city a must on any agenda to Spain or while in Europe.
