Co-op Education by Kettering

When we are growing up, our parents would always say that finish your schooling first before having a boyfriend or girlfriend. They instill in our minds that education is important. Why is it important? Well, I believe that it enhances or improves an individual’s way of life. It allows a person to be more productive and earn a better living.

But let’s face it. It is not easy to go through school specially in getting a degree cause it costs money. Some will apply for scholarships but still, they’d need money somehow. Other than scholarship, there’s also this co-op education (which I never heard of back in my country).
I think a co-op (short for co-operative) is a process of learning that combines and strengthen a student’s academic and career studies with related, productive and work experience. It’s like a combination of classroom learning and practical experience.

If you are considering applying for a co-op, whether its industrial engineering or any engineering co-op programs, you may wanna try Kettering University. Because not only they were ranked #1 University in the nation (for Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering) by US News and World Report‘s “America‘s Best Colleges Guide for 2008“, they also sends their students to work in their freshman year so they have plenty of time to develop their skills and talents that would increase their value to co-op employer. There’s even more to that, they also offer this three month work terms and three month school terms, which means you can instantly apply what you learn in the classroom on the job. It is a very interesting program that worth checking out for you students out there.
